JIL R&D Division at Hamira has an integrated multiprojects approach covering the Chemical, Biochemical, Microbiological and Food Technology related research areas of interest to the company apart from maintaining stringent and consistent quality of existing products of the company as also process improvement for newer product development and cost reduction by improving yields of production units.
  

The R&D nucleus unit was established in 1971 at factory's premises at Jagatjit Nagar.The unit is located in approx. 323sq. meter area and is equipped with most modern instruments viz. Gas Chromatograph, High Performances Liquid Chromatograph, Fluoro Spectrometer, Atomic Absorption Spectrophotometer, MilkoScan etc.

The R&D unit has the pilot plant facililty such as Single Effect Evaporator, Vacuum Ovens, Aerobic Fermentator, Mixing and Dehydration Reactors, Colloidmill etc.
